How does it work?
SIMTICS e-learning modules are web-based so they are available anytime and anywhere you have an internet connection. Once you’ve subscribed to a module you have one full month’s access to it for the advertised monthly subscription price. You can use the module as often as you want during that time. Your personal logbook keeps track of all the modules you’ve studied, how long you’ve spent on each, and records your scores in the Simulator and the Quizzes.
How do I purchase a subscription to a module?
First of all, you’ll need to sign up using the Subscribe option on the home page or you can go straight to the Subscribe page. As soon as you’ve set up your new account by entering your contact information and credit card details, you can start subscribing to the e-learning modules. To purchase a subscription to a module, go to the relevant product page on the www.simtics.com website and click on the blue price button – we have pages for Medicine, Medical Assisting, Nursing and Sonography. Why does the webshop say that subscriptions are not available in my region?
Due to our product licensing structure, we need to process some subscriptions manually. If you see this message when you try to subscribe for the first time, please send a message to sales@simtics.com and we’ll help you via email.
What does my subscription entitle me to?
You have the right to access and use any modules you have subscribed to, for as long as you keep paying the relevant monthly subscription. Your subscription is valid for a SINGLE USER only, and is not transferable. The Single User License is for individuals for their own personal learning. Public screening and classroom rights are NOT included. The Single User license entitles the user to a personalized record of learning. Single User licenses are purchased on a per month per user basis. Single User Licenses can be bought at our webstore.
How many people can use my subscription?
You can only purchase a SINGLE USER license through the webshop. Please keep your user name and password confidential. They are for your use only. Do NOT let others use your login for the following reasons:
- They will be able to see your results and all the errors you have made.
- Their results will be recorded in the logbook as if they were your results and cannot be removed - they will be mixed with your results.
- Your name will appear on the user interface, and on all printouts of your logbook.
- They will have to be given your confidential username and password.
- We reserve the right to cancel your license if we deem it is being abused. Our system flags unusual usage patterns to help us monitor this.
How do I remove modules from my bookshelf?
A module can be removed after the minimum 1-month subscription period for that module has expired. You will see a note next to each module telling you when the minimum period is due to expire. The date may vary for each module, depending on when you added it to your bookshelf. After the minimum one month period, a Remove button will appear. Click on this button and the module will be removed.
Why can’t I see the Remove button on my bookshelf?
The Remove button appears when the minimum subscription period expires for a module. The minimum subscription to a module is for one month. You will see a note next to each module telling you when the minimum period is due to expire. The Remove button will automatically appear after that time.
What if I start using a module and I am interrupted?
Not a problem! You can return to your learning program whenever your schedule permits.

I don’t want to increase the size of my bookshelf. How do I swap one module for another one?
Once the minimum subscription period has expired for a module, you will see a Remove button next to it on your bookshelf. (Your bookshelf will appear automatically when you log in.) To replace a module with another one, the first step is to remove a module to make space on your bookshelf. Now you can subscribe to another module without increasing your monthly subscription, as long as you choose a module that doesn’t need any more slots than the one you’ve removed.
I'm not sure that online training is right for me...
We believe our SIMTICS e-learning modules are a great way to learn and to supplement any classroom teaching you are undertaking - they offer maximum flexibility for those with busy schedules, they need no special computer or lab equipment, and the unique Simulations mean you can practice the procedures as often as you wish, in a safe (and non-judgmental!) environment, until you feel confident. This is a great way to prepare for a lab or externship, or to let you experience procedures that you are not able to participate in for any reason. Why not purchase one module and see if you like it? If you decide this online learning approach is not for you and you let us know within 2 days of signing up, then you won’t be charged a cent!
Who designed and wrote the SIMTICS e-learning modules?
Our content development team includes health professionals and subject experts from different fields of medicine and allied health, many of whom are still in practice. They wrote the text, quiz questions, and the specifications for the other components (video, anatomy, simulation), with assistance from professional writers and editors. Graphic designers and animators created the illustrations, animations and anatomy models; film industry professionals made the videos; and software developers programmed the simulations. And our wonderful team of testers spent many hours testing each module to make sure that any bugs and glitches were identified and fixed.
How do I suspend or cancel my subscription?
If you want to take a break from studying with SIMTICS and want to avoid your credit card being charged after your next renewal date, just remove all modules from your bookshelf. Note that the Remove button only appears after the minimum 1-month subscription period has expired, as explained above. If you wish to completely cancel your account, please send an email to support@simtics.com. As long as you cancel within 2 days of receiving a payment notification email, your card will not be charged again, otherwise cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.
My mouse scroll wheel doesn’t work in an ultrasound simulation
Some wireless laser mouse models do not support the scroll wheel functionality in our ultrasound simulations. Please try a different make or model of mouse. Our support page has a list of models that users have reported problems with.
Why won’t the video play?
It can take a little while for a video to download, depending on your internet connection speed. The timeline bar at the bottom of the screen gradually turns yellow to show you the progress of the video download. You can start playing a video before it is completely downloaded.
What types of payment do you accept?
Currently we accept Visa and Mastercard only for subscriptions purchased via the website. We do not accept any other card types (eg. American Express, Diners Club) or PayPal. At this time we only accept online payments, therefore we are not able to accept cash, international transfers to a bank account or Western Union payments.
