Terms of Use
IMPORTANT: By becoming a registered subscriber on the SIMTICS Site, completing the online registration process by checking the box “I agree to the Terms and Conditions” and clicking the “Place My Order” button on the Payment page, and using the Service, you agree to be bound by all of the terms of use documented here, and any other terms or conditions of use communicated to you by SIMTICS from time to time.
IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THESE TERMS, DO NOT SET UP OR USE YOUR SIMTICS BOOKSHELF OR ACCESS ANY SIMTICS E-LEARNING MODULE.
- Personal Subscription Only: Your subscription purchased from the SIMTICS webstore is for your personal and private use only. It is valid for a single user, and cannot be transferred or shared. A Personal Subscription does not cover use in a classroom or for any commercial purpose. For information about other types of license (eg. tutor, academic, institution, corporate/commercial), please contact sales@simtics.com.
- New Subscriptions: When you create a new monthly subscription on the SIMTICS website, we will ask you for your billing details and credit card information. For billing purposes, we will keep your credit card information on file and may ask to you to update it. Your card details are held in encrypted form in a secure online vault by our payment processing partner, Payment Express. Your new subscription will be set up with an empty bookshelf (“0-slot Bookshelf”) and the initial charge will be $0.
- Monthly Subscription and Billing: Each month, on your “Monthly Billing Date” (the anniversary of
the date you created your account), you will be charged for the number of slots you used on your
bookshelf during the previous month. Your first charge will be processed one month after you
originally subscribed. For example, if you subscribed on February 6:
- your Monthly Billing Date would become 6th of the month
- one month later, on March 6, you would be billed for the modules you had on your bookshelf during the previous month, from February 6.
- Bookshelf Slots: Your bookshelf starts with 0 slots. Each SIMTICS eLearning module takes up a number of slots on your bookshelf and each slot costs $5 per month. Some modules take up more than one slot; for example, a $10 module uses 2 slots each month. If your bookshelf is empty, there is no charge.
- Minimum Subscription Period: The minimum period of subscription or subscription renewal is one month. With your paid monthly membership subscription, you will have access to the eLearning modules on your bookshelf until your next Monthly Billing Date. We do not provide refunds or part-month charges.
- Initial Trial Period: We give you a 2-day trial period to evaluate the Service. If you cancel within this period your card will not be charged. If you wish to cancel your membership later, any cancellations made within 2 days after your Monthly Billing Date will avoid a charge for the following month. If you cancel more than 2 days after your Monthly Billing Date, your cancellation will take effect on your next Monthly Billing Date.
- Subscriptions Auto-Renew: All monthly memberships are "auto-renewing," meaning that we will bill your credit card every month until the Monthly Billing Date after you have removed all items from your bookshelf or cancelled your membership.
- Removing Modules from your Bookshelf: After the minimum 1-month subscription period for a module, a “Remove” button will appear next to that module and you are able to remove the module from your bookshelf. To minimize your costs, it is recommended to remove and swap modules on your Monthly Billing Date.
- Cancellation and Refund Policy: If you will have no further need for your SIMTICS Bookshelf in the future, you can cancel your subscription completely by sending an email to support@simtics.com. If you cancel within 2 days after your Monthly Billing Date, you will not be charged again. If you cancel more than 2 days after your most recent Monthly Billing Date, your subscription will end on your next Monthly Billing Date. During that remaining time, your access to the modules on your bookshelf will continue. We bill in arrears and do not provide partial-month (prorated) refunds, therefore you are not eligible for a refund of any kind upon cancellation.
- Data Privacy: We collect personal data from you solely for the purpose of setting up and operating your SIMTICS subscription and for communicating with you about SIMTICS products and your subscription. We will never give or sell your data to anyone else.
- Currency: All subscription prices on the SIMTICS website are in US dollars.
- Support Queries: If you have any queries about your membership that are not covered on the Support page or in the Tutorial, you can email your question to support@simtics.com.
