An oxygen administration system is a device that is used to deliver, supplement, and regulate oxygen levels within the arterial system. There is a wide variety of oxygen delivery devices available; however, patient needs, clinical assessment, and equipment performance greatly impact how and which type of device should be selected. This module will provide knowledge of the various types of oxygen administration devices available to healthcare professionals and the appropriate use of each. Including both Learn and Test modes, the online simulator will test your ability to recognize oxygen administration equipment. Practice the steps of the procedure as often as you want until you are confident.

You’ll learn

  • pre-procedure considerations
  • indications for oxygen therapy
  • the process for selecting an oxygen delivery device
  • how to demonstrate the proper assembly of various types of oxygen administration equipment
  • techniques for oxygen administration
  • much more (see Content Details for more specific information)
